AGM - Principal's Report - 26th November 2018
We have indeed had a busy year at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in 2018. Every year I recognise that we in Catholic Schools walk in the footsteps of giants. All of us (students, staff, principals, priests and parents) follow and continue the legacy of those who came before us. So in this our 64th year, I stand before you tonight, respectful of those founding Sisters and those who built the foundations of the community in which we all stand today.

AGM - Board Chair Report - 26th November 2018
Thank you for taking the time to attend at what is traditionally a very busy time of the year for all of us. Although we are required by our Constitution to have these annual meetings, in my view they provide a very valuable opportunity to find out about what has been happening in our school, understand and reflect in our achievements, and to find out about our future plans.

Nick Gvozdin - Chairperson
I presently have 2 children at OLMC being Benji in Year 5 and Jonas in Year 3, with my eldest Luka having progressed into high school. I am a lawyer based in Fremantle. I joined the Board in 2015 and am enjoying the experience of being more actively involved in the school community and with decision making involving the School. I enjoy working with the other board members and other stakeholders and I appreciate the opportunity to give something back to the school.
Carmel Elkins - Secretary
I have three children with my husband Steve. Milana in Year 5, Theo in Pre-Primary at OLMC and my eldest daughter Vienna in high school. I am a Primary School Teacher, and I’m enjoying my time on the School Board and being part of the fantastic OLMC School Community.
Ivan Jaksic - Treasurer
My wife, Melinda and I have twins at OLMC Ava and Ivan in year five. I am a Senior Cost Controller for a Large Engineering Company and hold a Bachelor in Commerce and a Full Member of CPA Australia. I have worked on Multi-Billon dollar Projects within Western Australia and spent more than 10 years in Financial Departments within Local Governments.
Karina Tedesco - Parish Rep
My husband, Joe, and I have two children, one is at OLMC in Year 5 and the other is at high school. I work full-time as a Senior Environmental Advisor facilitating mine closure and relinquishment at Iluka Resources, a major international mineral sands resource company. Within the parish, I am a member of the Parish Pastoral Council and coordinate Children's Liturgy for the Sunday 9am Mass.
Patrick Vereker - P&F Rep
I have 3 children, two at OLMC, Quincy in Year 5, and Elsie in Pre-Primary, and Toby is at high school. I work in the City with a studio of Architects as a senior Architectural technician. With my background in construction I hope to impart some experience and guidance with projects, refurbishments, busy bees etc. being undertaken at the school.
Natalie Giles - Board Member
I'm a working mum, married to Murray Giles with one child at OLMC, Noah in year 4, and one child at high school, Ksenia. I have worked at the University of Notre Dame Australia as a Research Ethics Officer for the last seven years and have a biomedical science background, having previously worked in skin and burns research. I joined the OLMC board in 2016 and really enjoy being a part of the planning and decision making for my future of this wonderful school.
Jo Arnephie - Board Member
I have a daughter Leia in Year 4 at OMLC. I am currently a stay at home mum and carer for my elderly mother. My professional background is in book-keeping and office administration; specialising in accounts payable and receivable. I joined OLMC in 2014 as a library volunteer; a role I thoroughly enjoys as it provides me with the opportunity to give something back to the school.
Rachael Visser - Board Member
I have been part of the OLMC community since 2012. We have our eldest Marcus in Year 6 and our youngest James in Kindy. I am currently working as an Admin Officer in a Catholic School in Canning Vale and previously worked as a Nurse in both Hospitals and Doctors Surgery. I am very honoured to be a part of the Board at OLMC.
Randall Tapp - Board Member
My wife Emma and I have Xavier in Year 5 at OLMC and Isla in high school. We both enjoy active roles as contributors to the school community. I have a Marine Science Degree, Trade Qualifications in Graphic Design and have been employed as a Specialist Medical Device Territory Manager for the past 15 years. I am honoured to be given the opportunity to join the School Board and look forward to contributing to the future of our great school.
